In the century of mass production, our food supply and consumption has evolved faster than our bodies can adapt. Even the foods we believe to be natural and healthy, (produce section vs. prepackaged foods section) all of these foods are products engineered for mass consumption and no doubt cause our bodies to react. With all of the media buzz about the topic, we wanted to give our patients a little more information about the terms being tossed around in the news, and what it all means to your health.

Many experience some kind of reactions to food at one point or another in their lives, some more severe than others. While some culprits can be easily detected, such as a peanut allergy, others can remain aloof and be silent killers. Some food allergies are not necessarily food allergies at all, but rather, what is presenting as allergies are the side effects to a slow but systematic shut down of your body. Did you know, hydrogenated oils are one molecule away from being plastic and metal is used for its production? The plastic like substance and metal remnants course through the veins causing not only myriad terrorist attacks on your body, but also attacks the way your body processes future food intake.

Hydrogenated oil is only one of many harmful products that serve as a base additive in our regular food supply. Paying attention to ones consumption of these engineered food stuffs can drastically reduce our bodies’ reactions and justice can be served by identifying the real allergy as the culprit.
