Balloon Sinuplasty Ends Sinus Woes- Atlanta ENT

Sinusitis is one of the most common chronic health problems in the United States today. Every year, over 37 million people in the U.S. are treated for the headaches, congestion and pain that sinusitis causes. Unfortunately, for many sinusitis sufferers, treatment only provides temporary relief before the next bought strikes again.

The first line of treatment for sinusitis is medication. Antibiotics, antihistamines and other medications are commonly prescribed to help the body fight off sinusitis. When these medications fail, or sinus infections become recurrent, sinus surgery is often the next step doctors will recommend.

Conventional sinus surgery required bone or tissue to be removed to open block sinus passageways. Like any surgery, this meant time off work, the pain of the healing process and the stress of surgery itself.

Atlanta ENT offers a new option that takes the stress, pain and recovery time out of sinus surgery. Balloon sinuplasty is a minimally invasive procedure, done in our office that uses balloons to open the sinus passageways, similar to how balloons are used in heart surgery. Once the sinuses are opened, normal sinus drainage and function resumes.

If you are suffering from the symptoms of sinusitis, please contact Atlanta ENT today for a consultation.
